We understand questions arise through the application process, and we want to do whatever is needed to help you through the process.

Most of our initial communication is done via email, so make sure to keep an eye on your inbox! Here’s a brief overview of our hiring process:
- Application Under Review
- Phone Interview
- Hiring Manager Interview
- Pre-Employment Background Screening
- Verbal Offer Extended
- Welcome to the Team!
Step 1: Apply
Once you’ve found the position(s) that sparks your interest, we invite you to submit your formal application online. Once this has been submitted, a member of our internal talent acquisition team will review your qualifications and will contact you if there may be a match with our current open positions. In the meantime, using your email address and password, you can login to our careers website anytime to update your information or view the status of your application.
Step 2: Assess
At Sun, we offer a few options for two-way communication to kick off the hiring process. Depending on the position and location, we may request our initial screening with you via telephone, video self-recording, or web cam interview. These requests will be sent via email, allowing you to select a date and time that is within your personal availability. We recognize an interview should serve a mutual benefit and invite any questions you may have.
Step 3: Hiring Manager Review
Once your initial screening has been completed, we will pass our notes and recommendation along to the hiring manager to review. If the hiring manager is interested in moving forward with you in the process, we will reach out to you for your availability to schedule an onsite interview at the location of the position.
Step 4: Pre-Screening, Offer & Onboarding
It’s decision time. Our team works equally hard to ensure the right candidate is selected for both you and Sun. If you are selected as a potential final candidate, a member of our team will reach out to you to initiate the pre-screening process, which includes a background check and drug screen. Upon successful completion of pre-hire criteria, we may issue you an offer. The offer is extended to you via telephone from a member of our talent acquisition team, followed by a formal offer letter sent via email for your electronic signature. If you are not selected for a position after your interview, you will receive communication from a member of our team.
Once you’ve accepted an offer with Sun, you will receive additional details about your onboarding experience, including completion of electronic paperwork, access to our online portal and more.
It’s important for candidates to keep in mind that the time it takes to fill a job can vary on many factors—some completely unrelated to you and your application. Our company currently averages 25 days to fill a position, but this number can be higher or lower depending on the role. For this reason, it’s important that candidates remain patient through the process if there hasn’t been a status change visible after applying.
You can review the status of your application anytime throughout the hiring process. Using your email address and password, you can login to our careers website anytime to update your information or view the status of your application.
Several of our positions require a resume with your application. If you don’t have a resume, here are some tips for you to consider when creating one:
- Ensure your employment history is on descending order with your most recent employer listed first.
- Use action words to make your resume stand out.
- Highlight the strengths that are most relevant to the specific position you’re applying for.
- Your main selling points should be clear and easy to review.
- Structure the body of your resume by using bullet points and short sentences rather than a paragraph summarizing your experience.
- Font size should be no smaller than 10 point and the length shouldn’t exceed two pages.
- Make sure your resume is updated frequently so your most recent accomplishments are captured.
